This policy is stated in the pre-enrollment packet to ensure that students are informed of the policy prior to enrollment. Ohio State Beauty Academy takes all student disputes/complaints seriously. Grievance procedures are provided for students who believe that they have been unlawfully discriminated against, unfairly treated, or harassed in any way. Academic grievances relates to a complaint about a course, program of study, or grade.
Students are expected to address any disagreements or conflicts directly with the individual involved- in person- with a written document outlining the complaint and communication. After this, if there is no satisfactory resolution, the student may set an appointment to see one of the Vice Presidents. All communications regarding the complaint must be in writing and all meetings and communications will be documented in the student files. The grievance policy is as follows:
- ⇢ Complaints against students or employees must be made within one week of the issue. Complaint forms are available for use.
- ⇢ If the complaint cannot be resolved formally the student shall write up the details and submit it to one of the Vice Presidents who will research the issue and respond with a resolution. Once received, solutions will be evaluated and returned within 10 business days with a resolution.
- ⇢ Records of complaints and their resolution are retained by the institution according to the institution’s record keeping policy, as applicable.
- ⇢ If the complaint cannot be resolved after exhausting the institution’s grievance procedure, the student may contact the below regulatory agencies. However, if such a requirement violates applicable laws or regulations the student may contact the regulatory agencies prior to exhausting this policy.:
